I went to a solicitor and they were asking for 拢180 per hour. Isn't that exhorbitant? What are the normal fees for a solicitor to give advice?
If you live in SE England that's probably about the norm. I think mine charges 拢150 now. (I live in the SW.)
You could consider getting some free advice from the Citizen's Advice Bureau. Or, some solicitors offer 30 minutes free time - it's worth asking around. Good luck. What are the normal fees for a solicitor to give advice?
lots of solicitors offer a free half hour or hour consultation, but do be careful, the idea is that in that free half hour, they spend 10 minutes convincing you you have a case and the other 20 telling you how best they are to act for you at silly fees per hour! CAB would be the best bet and if you can, apply for legal aid, if immigrants who own 4 houses and plot against our country can get it...so can you!
one arm and one leg should do it!
the last time i used a brief was about 20 years ago. and his fee was 拢90.00 an hour then
good luck.
I'm guessing you're in the UK?? If so, you'd be better off going to the CAB first. You can have 10 minutes free with the duty solicitor, to find out if its worth pursuing your case. Better than spending loads only to be told, you haven't got a case! Hope this helps, Good luck!
