Some hair colour advice would be much appreciated!

I have med-dark brown hair (my natural colour) and i want to get some blonde highlights put in but do not want any yellow/red or golden tints at all. I have a slight natural red tint in my brown. I was wondering if it is best to have an ash blonde put in or just straight bleach? would the ash blonde lift since i have a darkish brown natural colour? Some hair colour advice would be much appreciated!
dont bleach your hair if you have red pigments because it will just turn a ginger colour ash blonde probally wouldnt show in med - dark brown hair , go to a hairdressers and ask to look through their colour books and then you can see what they will look like in your hair xxSome hair colour advice would be much appreciated!
If you have a natural red tint, then you are definitely in danger of getting an orange/ginger hue in your hair. A lot of people with dark have natural red pigmentation, but it is not always visible. If you bleach this colour, it is likely that it will only lift to an orange/blonde colour.

You might be OK if you leave the bleach on for the maximum time stated on the box (usually 60-90 mins) but no longer. This wll help the lifting process, and hopefully get past the orange stage.

If this doesn't work, then ash toners do work, but can make your hair look a bit dull. Also, you have to use them every few washes.. so is an ongoing thing.
maybe die your hair light brown and then put the blonde higlights in it. you should go to the hair salon to get this down for the best results.
Don't get you hair bleached, it'll make it look like straw, try some low-lights instead.
i have the same hair colour and i have had bleach in it it look cool when it straghted so i would vote blech with a deep condition after a few day hope it helps heather [ hairdresser ]
If you bleach your hair which already has some red in it, you will land up with orange streaks. Not good. Go to hairdressers and explain what you want. It will be a lot more expensive but well worth it.
