I just received a job as a cocktail waitress at a bar at the Jersey shore. I have very little experience with cocktails,so what drinks should I definately be familar with? What other tips/advice do you have when dealing with customers, the bar, etc. ....What is some advice/tips for a new and unexperienced cocktail waitress?
Smile, it won't always be easy, but try even if you don't feel like it.What is some advice/tips for a new and unexperienced cocktail waitress?
Know martinis and manhattans, and major shots like jaeger bombs. If someone orders a martini, you need to ask gin or vodka, up or rocks, twist or olives, etc. Instead of ';what kind of vodka do you want?'; ask ';Do you prefer Ketel One or Grey Goose?'; that way, you're more likely to sell top shelf. Know what kind of top shelf liquors your bar offers, at least 2 or 3 of each category.
Wear comfortable shoes. Sexy shoes look nice, but you'll be crying by the end of the night.
Either have your customers pay as they go, or get a credit card. Sometimes people get drunk and forget to pay.
Always have lots of singles and fives for giving change. If you owe someone 5 dollars in change on a small tab, give them all singles so they can tip you. If the tab is more than 20 dollars, give them a fiver so they have to tip you all five dollars.
Cocktail waitressing requires lots of running, muliti-tasking, and sexual harassment. Good luck!
P.S. Get in good with the doorman/ bouncer so he'll take care of you if a customer does you wrong!

What is your advice for someone moving out on their own for the first time?
I want to move out of my parents' house ASAP (the environment is just horrible), and I just want the transition to be as smooth as possible. Due to circumstances, I will be living alone, and I actually do really want to live alone.
What is your advice (especially financial) for a young female moving out on her own for the first time? What do you wish you knew then that you know now? What is your advice for someone moving out on their own for the first time?
I stayed home till i was 29. Mom was sick and tended to her till she was able to live alone. Moving out can be scary and yet exciting at the same time. i did not do my homework before i moved to my very first apt. here are things i should have done and have since done with my last two apts.
1. when looking for a place make sure you look around the place during the day and at night. I did not look at night and found there was not very good lighting outside after i moved in. it was too dark
2. If you can..talk to other people who live around that area. I did not do that and i found out...after i moved in..that the leasing agents did not do a real good job.
3. once again..something i did not do the 1st time. read the lease BEFORE you sign so you know what you are getting yourself into
4.if you can...put some money aside in case an emergency comes up and its hard to come up with the rent or pay the bills.
5. My first place was full of used furniture. it was not the best looking stuff..but it worked out ok. i saved for new stuff.
6. last but not least. if you find a prob with your apt. call asap. i did not do that and they wanted to charge me for a cig burn in carpet even though i did not cause it was there before i moved in. get a piece of paper and look around the place. see any damage or something wrong. write it down and make a copy for you and your landlord.
good luck hun. What is your advice for someone moving out on their own for the first time?
You need to be at least 18 in order to sign a lease. Make sure you are making enough money to not only rent, but also pay for utilities, food, transportation and all the other things that come along with adulthood. Have some money saved up -- I suggest about six months of earnings so that you have a cushion.
You will need furniture, pots and pans, silverware etc etc. You may want to check out the thrift shops. You will also want to live in a safe place so you may have to pay a little more in rent and don't forget that you will also need to pay a security deposit. Additionally, the utilities will require a deposit in order to establish a first time account with them.
1 Most of the apartments that are running a special are having a hard time getting tenants because of a large amount of crime. Check with the police about crime before you sign a lease.
#2 Try your very best to live way below your means and put money aside. Anytime you get a raise put a large amount of the raise aside.
#3 Don't borrow money except to go to school or later to buy a home. And borrow as little as possible for these because it is very hard to dig yourself out once you are in the hole.

What is some advice for a husband and wife trying to concive their first child?
Any advice is good. Financial, items worth getting, what delivery is like, things people never tell you about babies or birth. Anything. What is some advice for a husband and wife trying to concive their first child?
Diaper changing tables seem to be a waste to most people I know I think maybe everyone I know used them 2 times!! Birth isnt as bad as you think it may be....be sure to buy multiple themometers bc when you need it you cant find it.....SWINGS, Bouncer chairs are A MUST!! Nap when baby naps, best advice I got!! Don't spend tons on clothes, they outgrow them in a week...my son never wore half of his stuff!!
Enjoy the baby and pregnancy, take tons of pictures, especially of the growing belly!!! And when trying to concieve dont put pressure on you or your spouse, just have fun!!! Good luck!!What is some advice for a husband and wife trying to concive their first child?
Well, babies are a wonderful joy! And little miracles! And they cost a lot! lol. I think it is great that you are trying to have a baby! Good luck to you! I'm pretty sure that if you have intercourse the week before your period, you're more fertile. That's when I got pregnant. I have an 8 month old baby girl, and she is my whole world! She makes me so happy! When you are feeling mad, upset, or worried, as soon as your baby smiles at you, everything's better! The one thing that I realized the minute I saw my tiny little angel is that from that moment on, there will never be a second in my life where I don't have to worry! And I'm learning how very true that is now that she's crawling around and falling over, and not wanting to sit still! Another thing, babies develope their motor skills when they want to, when they're ready. Not when a book or magazine says they will. Just in this past year, my family has had 5 new additions and one more due in May! And my baby girl is doing things before two of the babies that are older than her! So, don't listen to the books! Even though some of it is right! My baby was 6 months and 2 weeks old and some magazine said that around 6 months, babies would start to crawl, and she wasn't crawling yet. So, I got a bit concerned. Then, a week later, she was crawling everywhere! So, keep in mind that babies develop at a different pace than other babies. And that most of the time, girls do things sooner than boys. There's so much I could say, but since I don't wanna take up the entire page, I'll just say that if you would like to know anything more, or ask me any questions, you can email me at: shaesgirlforever@yahoo.com. Oh, and there's a website I like a lot that can answer a lot of questions you may have, it's babycentre.com Hope i helped! And good luck again!

What is your advice for first time intercourse when the girl is a virgin?
How can we ease the pain (I'm a virgin w/intact hymen)? Any pointers or the best way he should go about it is greatly appreciated. Should he start out slow? Or start out fast %26amp; push hard to quickly get pain over with from breaking the hymen? And yes I know lube is always a good idea %26amp; stuff like that. FYI, I am a 21 yr old on birth control in a monogomous relationship, not some curious 13 year old. Thanks for input/advice. What is your advice for first time intercourse when the girl is a virgin?
It may take a bit of pressure for him to break your hymen if it is intact. My advice would be for him to penetrate you, then hold still for a few seconds while you get used to the feeling. This was what my guy did with me. He only started thrusting after I assured him I was OK. Make sure he is gentle, you are going to feel some discomfort your first time. Mine felt like a very hard pinch for the first minute or two, then pleasure took over. It went so well that first time we did it a second time that same night. What is your advice for first time intercourse when the girl is a virgin?
Women's hymen usually breaks before they are even into there teens. The reason for this is because of tampons, exercise, rough activities, etc. The only reason that it hurts during intercourse is because your vagina still has a lot of skin still tightly bound and when you insert the penis into the vagina, the skin will rip and tear in little places. Just tell him to take it very slow and when you start to hurt tell him to stop and just kiss for a little bit until you're comfortable with it again. Hope this helps!
Definitely take your time with foreplay.
The more the better.
You're right about the lube, great addition.
He should go slow. Speed it up later.
Just because it's you're first time doesn't mean it's going to hurt.\
I thought it would to, and kind of had this paranoia going on.
Definitely didn't.
Just relax and go for it.
i lost mine a while ago =/
kinda wish i didnt
yet i love that boy with all my heart
%26amp;%26amp; there is no one i would have rather
lost it with.
i just wish i would have waited till i was at least 18 lol
my hymen was already gone from useing tampons and
getting a papsmear [[which i had to have done to
get on birth control pills]] so im guessing you had
to have one too... i think its good your being smart
and prepaired etc. it hurt, not that much tho
we went slow. i didnt bleed [[hymen gone]] u might tho
and i suppose if your hymen has to tear it will
be alot more painfull. idk still dosnt really seam worht it for
meYET still alot of pain and no fun for me lmao
but you know what they say
practice makes perfect. lol... %26lt;3Q
yes go slow at first and you will know how your own bodies feel as you say lube is a good help and you will know yourself what your body is accepting follow these few easy staps and take the rest as it happens
Lots of foreplay first of all. Then go slow and make sure you're wet enough. If you need lubrication don't be embarrassed to say so. Slow and nice is always better than fast and hard.
Go to your gynecologist, tell her that you are worried about it hurting the first time you have sex, and she will take care of it. Trust me.
Relax and go slow. Allow your body to adjust to him. You will be sore for a few days.

How hard is it to get disability with fibromyalgia? Any advice or personal stories?
I've had fibromayalgia for 6 years and until the last year has been under control. My doctor suggested i tried filing for disability. How hard is it to get disability with fibromyalgia? Any advice or personal stories?
Don't give up on trying to find pain control. It is possible, but the medical ';establishment'; really doesn't offer real solutions to dealing with fibromyalgia. Before you file for disability, see what else you can do to manage your pain--if you can control your pain, everything else will be a lot better as well, and you very well may be able to work. I've found relief by taking 800 mg. of Aleve and a 1000-mg. flaxseed oil capsule every night at bedtime, and I take Arnica, a homeopathic herb, as needed for flareups. Check out the links below. I hope the information helps. Please let us know how you find relief. How hard is it to get disability with fibromyalgia? Any advice or personal stories?
After you file for SSDI contact your state senators and have them keep an eye on your case. Friends in high places seems to help. I also have fibromyalgia to go along with psoriatic arthritis and rheumetoid arthritis. Took me 6 months, that seems long unless you have money saved.
How old are you? Do you really feel that you can't work? It seems in recent years this has been recognized as an actual illness but don't fall victim to it. Do not let it define you. You'll respect yourself more if you push to be your best. Many people live with illness and pain and don't use the crutch of disability. However if you honestly feel you must, you need to talk to Social Security and get the ball rolling. Good Luck.
I don't know how hard it would be but it took me like 2 yrs. and i have severe scoloisis.....you have to go talk to SS and get the ball rolling........you will most likely get turned down the first, second and third time but don't let that discourage you....then you might need to hire an attorney (i did) and then you go to court and that is when i finally got it. It is a PAIN IN THE A____!!! but if you can't work??????????? GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!sell makeup skin treatment

What is your advice to me on my behavioral patterns?
I am thoroughly impulsive, incredibly paranoid, utterly negative, and socially retarded. Ive tried several medicines but Im getting sick of them. How can I learn to become a productive citizen naturally? What is your advice to me on my behavioral patterns?
Drop the chemicals and practice. Social skills are not innate, they are learned. The more you get out there, the easier it will get. As far as the negativity, all I can say is bag it and be thankful you have your health and are able to get out. Work on each trait one at a time until you find your comfort zone. Good luck. What is your advice to me on my behavioral patterns?
at least you know you have a problem.
First, stop talking or thinking a bout negatives when they pop up in your mind...tell yourself..it doesn't envolve you.
Second, figure out what you are paranoid about, then relize other people go on living, no matter whats happening around them.
Third...go to places where people are, don't talk at first, just listen. You get a feel of how people carry on conversations with ease. Sometimes medicine works, But the person taking them also has to learn to handle them selves. Same thing as if you put one painting over another...no matter what that other painting is still under there. Get your self a new canvas...and start a master piece....Understanding life goes on and nothing we can do about it...helps.
you should have control in your self you can not say that you tried so hard that you quit because quiters never win no matter what for sure youll have to try so keep that in your mind an always be confidint in your self thats the only way you will succeed
Find a mentor, someone whom you can trust and admire.
Ask him or her to steer you in the right direction regarding social attitudes. Your mentor will tell you all about why being paranoid and impulsive is not productive.
Your sincere resolve is also necessary but good luck if you want to turn your life around.
Get off all the medications and figure out which type of medication work the best. I think you're bipolar or something like it.

I want to be a mentor at at teen camp and to apply i have to write an esay... i need advice.?
it asks me to state why i think i could be a good role model, and how i can contribute by being a mentor. im not sure how anyone can state how they think their a good role model without sounding arogant, so i need ideas, and advice on what to say.I want to be a mentor at at teen camp and to apply i have to write an esay... i need advice.?
Talk about how you live a clean life -- no drinking or smoking. How you believe in Natural Highs only and that because you feel so strongly about that way of life you are certain that you can inspire others to live their lives that way too. If you play sports, talk about good sportsmanship and being a team player. If you are in band or chorus, talk about how music inspires you. Any passion you have that is a positive activity that can benefit others is a good talking point for showing what a good role model you would be.
Congrats to you for wanting to be a mentor at a teen camp. My daughter did that last summer and she said it was one of the best experiences she has had.I want to be a mentor at at teen camp and to apply i have to write an esay... i need advice.?
I think that in order to be a good mentor at a teen camp you need to answer this one alone. I could understand if you had a list of things you have combined and were having trouble putting it into an essay. However we may as well be the one getting the position as a mentor if we are the ones doing your essay, it kind of defeats the purpose of YOU writing it in order for YOU to get the position. Also if the only things you can think of make you sound arrogant then you aren't right for the job as a MENTOR. If you can come up with a list of things you have done, or what makes you want this job, or why you think you deserve it better than someone else applying, what you can offer, what you have done that is similar to this line of work then need help throwing it together, let me know *-*.
Tell them you can teach them the best ways to masterbate.
Well one thing I would do is that perhaps you can think of yourself in the third person. In effect I would think that it would help detach yourself from a mental mindset where you think of yourself ';arrogantly'; and instead think of yourself from another individuals point of view.
You could also make a list of things that apply to you.
For example I believe a good role model to also be a good leader.
That person is charismatic, inspirational, and finds creative ways to deal with negative situations.
A good role model forms an educated opinion about life and experiences AFTER having dealt with them. I think to explain this further, say you had instances in the past where you went to camp and you had bad mentors and leaders...they wouldn't communicate well and you always felt lost or something of the sort. You having dealt with this, I think you would want to better the state of camp couselors and mentors. Therefore you would take initiative and try to be talkative and things that the previous people you dealt with lacked.
Hope this helps.
